It's Been awhile!

We just celebrated our cute little girls first Birthday! She had a butterfly Birthday party with family and a few close friends. She was soooo cute about everything and LOVED her cake and Ice cream. She was very spoiled with gifts and enjoyed every minute of it. I attempted to make a butterfly cake, which we ended up calling the "puddlefly." The frosting turned out a little more runny than I intended, but it still looked cute. I tried to make the cake come out smoothly the first time, but failed, so instead of wasting that cake, I made a desert called "Death By Chocolate." In the end we had two cakes, and they were good. But lets just say that is A LOT of cake! haha. Well, I have learned my lesson this year, and will try to work on my cake making skills before she turns two. haha. Happy Birthday little one! We LOVE YOU!

Can you believe it?

I know, I am actually writing another blog update! I don't know if anyone really reads this. Not a whole lot has been going on with us, but it's now February 2011 and our baby is almost 10 months old! That's right our little one is going to be one before we know it. She is such a smart little girl, and we may be biast, but we think that she is the cutest. I was thinking of entering her in a baby contest, but am not 100% sure about it. What do you think? I thought it would be fun to do at least once even if she doesn't win. We are contemplating moving sometime the end of August, but we are hoping to find a cheap place with a dishwasher, and some extra storage. It gets hard when you feel like you are doing dishes ALL THE TIME. We are also trying to plan a vacation to California that same month to go see my relatives. Hopefully everything goes our way and works out. Well, I have to make this short, but enjoy reading about what is going on in our lives. Until I write again, have a wonderful day.

Where the heck have we been????

As of May 9th, Mother's Day, we had a beautiful, very smart baby girl. We are very blessed to have her in our lives. She makes every day that much more worth it. The Lord was definately with our family through recovery time. It was a much overwhelming and needed experience that I will never forget.
She is now four months old, and quite a little character. She is such a princess, and when she wants something, usually she wants it right NOW! We love her so much, and even though parenthood is quite challenging sometimes, I will just see her cute little smile, and everything seems much better. I think for us that the first three weeks was the hardest, because of being new to being parents, not knowing what we were doing, and trying to adapt to the little one's schedule, but of course we got through it with a lot of prayers (which we highly appreciate all of you for doing for us.) It really meant a lot.
Recently we got to visit Arches National Park. It was awesome. Thanks to Grandma Seguine, Riley and I actually got to hike the delicate arch the first day we went there. We got back and swam, and relaxed. Well, I should say somewhat. Our little girl had a little bit of a hard time adjusting at first. Oh well- her schedule was just really thrown off, and we were out of a routine. The next day we drove through arches again, and were able to go on a short hike to Landscape arch. Well, right before we left on our hike.... Kairi had the blowout of all blowouts! Poor girl. Mommy had to change her, and used about fifteen wipes. Grandma had to empty out her garbage bag in her car, so we had something to put poopy clothes in. Kairi was a pill in the car, but the second we got out, she was great, so the Great Grandparents thought she was being an angel for us. Righy before we left Landscape arch, I was changing the little one again, but as I went to wipe her... sure enough PEE ALL OVER MY HAND and on her clothes. Oh dear. We ended up at Moab for lunch after visiting the visitors center. I collect spoons, and I had to have one with Arches of course. Well, Can you believe that Arches Visitors center DID NOT have any collector spoons. :( Well, at least I found one in Moab, oh and Riley was teasing me like he was going to feed Kairi Ice Cream, than got a big blob on her onesie. By that point it was the third outfit of the day, and I really didn't care any more. I had only brought four that day just in case. Finally she fell asleep, and we were able to enjoy a nice ride along the Colorado River. We only had to stop for one more poopy diaper, which Riley had to honk at his Dad to stop for. I love adventures, and Kairi just makes them a little more exciting for me. All in all, it was a wonderful trip and we had a good time. Well, that is all I am writing for now. Enjoy!

Update!

Hi everyone! Wow, it has certainly been awhile since I have blogged. Sorry about that. Well, I am now at thirty two weeks with this baby! Time has actually gone by pretty fast. I will only be working for about four more weeks. It's amazing how much love this little one brings to our home already. We are excited to meet the baby. I have been keeping myself extremely busy trying to keep my mind off of the gender. It's been great, because I have been productive, and it doesn't bother us one bit to not know the gender. It's a lot easier for us than people think it is, or will be. I am just greatful to report that we have a healthy baby. Anyway, enough about the baby, now let's get to what I have been doing to keep myself busy. I have been doing A LOT of organizing, and trying to finish projects I may have started years ago. I have done a lot of scrapbooking, so I can get pictures of mine and Riley's life together in order. I have also been reading a lot of the Children of the Promise series, so I have had World War 2 on my mind, and realized the other day that I have a tape that I interviewed my Grandpa on for a school project when I was younger. I decided I am going to type up what was said and give it to family members that would like it, because of the fact that I hate my voice on the tape and there are some distractions. I thought it would be a neat thing for my family history book, and am willing to give a copy to my family members that would appreciate it as much as I do. Our Grandpa Hillam was definately an amazing man. Well, I hope all is well with everyone, and I will try to update this blog better than I have. :D

Merry Christmas to us!!!!!!!!

So, we just went to the doctor yesterday, and I am 17 weeks and 4 days as of today. It was a great appointment. Our babies heart beat is same as it was last time... 145 beats per minute, which is good and healthy. I was also able to get the H1N1 vaccination, which was nice to not have to worry about getting that anymore. We are going to be having an ultrasound on Christmas Eve!!!! We are very blessed and excited, although that day has just become a whole lot busier for us, we are happy to share our excitement and be with our families for the holiday season. We hope that everyone has a great holiday season and gets everything they want. I just know we are definately getting more than we want, but it's soooo worth it!

Heart Beat!

On Tuesday, November 5th it became more real for us. We got to hear the heartbeat of our little one, which was amazing. We are happy to report that everything seems to be just fine so far. 145 beats per minute... WOW! That is fast. We are still planning on keeping the gender a surprise until baby decides to show up. We have faith that we can do it and play the waiting game. It's really hard to find things that are gender neutral, oh well, we will manage. We wish everyone the best and hope all is well!

NO MORE SALSA!

Seeing as the Salsa smell, taste, and touch of the tomatoes has made me extremely sick since I have been pregnant, they are transferring me out of that department and into the candy department. I will have an earlier schedule, which will be good since I do get my morning sickness in the late afternoons. We are very happy for this decision and what a blessing it's going to be for us. Thank you for everyone's support.
